Being a Mother and being Wiccan - Readable :)

What a wonderful time to be a mother and Wiccan. So many things that I use to do as a mom never felt right, like telling the 'real' story of christmas or the the 'real' easter saga. These things are not historically correct ( as in time and period ) but I also was in conflict with myself, by telling these stories when I didn't believe them myself.

As I grew in my own path, I found that speaking truthfully, even if it's historogically true, I was allowing them to find and choose their own beliefs. We, of course, celebrate the solstice and create a positive, dependable, occasion then still make the 'magick' of christmas, or any other holiday, what it is. A fun, loving time when we can, again, gather and just be a family, without the guilt of not creating a foundation for the holiday based on others opinion.

We are so much happier being together now, and myself, I feel better by not stating and try to convice the kids in something that I don't find true, but still allowing them to make their own decisions about the holidays as well as their beliefs!
