CHRYSALIS

I woke up from a deep sleep and saw for the first time.
My eyes were hard to adjust at first, and with a stinging sensation.
The world was at it should have been, fresh and clear with a shine.
The air was crisp and slightly damp, that every breath draws in a rejuvention.

My steps were young and energetic, and I seem to be gliding through the air.
The colors so clear and bright, that one could almost taste its creation.
My bare skin tingling through out my body with life that is there.
I am surrounded by the sounds of nature that fill my every emotion.

I am finally free from the pain and solitude that once had bind me.
Reborn into a fresh new world, that seem to have slumbered.
Awakened by the rain that has replenished what once was taken.
Reclaiming the innocence that had long been forgotten.

I find myself in the center of what is my destiny.
My heart beating loudly as I step out for my first flight.
Simple and pure is the life that is flowing through my body.
I have broken through the shell that was my chrysalis.
